Hi, Just bought a used Z4M that came with a slight oil leakage coming from the front of the head gasket going all the way back. My friend thats a mechanic advised me that this may be due to a bad head gasket and the gasket will need to be replaced. He also said that even though the part isn’t very expensive, the engine needs to be taken apart to get it replaced. This is gonna cost around $2500 to get the gasket replaced and at the moment, I dont have the money to get this done.  Does anyone know a better solution that wont cost so much to get my gasket fixed. Forgot to mention that the Z4M has 50k miles and besides this gasket leak, it has no other problems. Thanks for any responses.

It’s usually very expensive to replace the head gasket on a Z4M since it requires special tools and high attention to detail in order to have the engine taken apart. In my opinion, I would try to avoid having this done since its possible the repair can go wrong and youll be left with an even higher bill to get everything done correctly. I believe there are only a few auto repair shops in the country that are even able to do that repair properly. My Z4M had the same problem happen to the head gasket. I looked online for a few hours trying to figure out what I should do and I found out there’s a ton of different sealers that you can use to fix your head gasket. After looking at all the reviews for all the different companies, I found out that most of them suck. Most of the other companies use this stuff called water-glassas a main ingredient in their sealers. Water-glass just cracks off of aluminum engines which is what most engines are made out of now a days. I was pretty of reluctant to buy any of them but I decided to go with this one called Fusion because they claimed they don’t use water-glass and their repair-life lasts like 6 years. They also had pretty good reviews. I was pretty happy to see that it only took 5 days for them to get the product delivered to me all the way in Canada. I opened up the box and saw the instructions and the product. I followed the instructions really well and managed to get all my symptoms resolved after about 1 hour and 30 minutes from when I first opened the box. That being said, I am pretty happy with my results. especially when you consider I got my Z4M’s gasket sealed for under $200.

Yes, I’m pretty sure the compression test is the best way. However, you can also pull the spark plugs and check the chambers for coolant.

Heres my story, it all started on a monday morning. While I was on my way to work. I looked in my rear-view mirror to switch lanes and noticed a good amount of white smoke coming from the back of my vehicle. When I got to work I tried my best to diagnose the problem with my car with just that one detail. I managed to find out what exactly happened, I had a head gasket leak. On the way home from work, I stopped by my local auto repair shop to see what needs to happen to get this problem fixed. I was pretty much disgusted to hear that it would cost over $2000 to get the gasket replaced. I had to find a more affordable way to get my gasket fixed. After a few minutes of searching online, I found my solution, Fusion Sealers. I decided to go with them since as mentioned in the second reply to the thread, Fusion doesn’t use water-glass. Due to this formula, they have one of the highest success -rates against all their competition brands. It also helps that alot of the other brands like Bars and Thermogasket have terrible reviews (Probably due to their water-glass based formula.) I had to get this stuff as fast as possible since driving with a blown head gasket destroys your engine. I chose the overnight shipping option when I checked out and went to bed. The next day, I rode the bus and hoped that my Fusion would be at my doorstep when I got home. Lo and behold, there it was, right at the door. I took it inside, read the instructions, and got to work. 2 hours later, no more white smoke from the tail pipe and no more leaking from my engine.  Do yourself a favor, if you notice any white-smoke coming from your tailpipe or if you have a leak coming from your head gasket, get some Fusion.
I’ve used Fusion as well with great results. It seem’s like it might be the best stuff online for repairing blown head gaskets. Im really not a fan of the $100+ price tag but I believe its defintely worth the money.
